About Dr. Darlene S. Lee
Dr. Darlene S. Lee, CEO of Darling Communications, is a leadership strategist and coach. Dr. Lee works to ensure a level business playing field exists for all. Her areas of expertise include creating harassment-free workplaces, diversity and leadership consulting, pay equity, and media relations.
Dr. Lee has taught various communication courses at the university level and is a sought-after trainer, speaker, and panelist in the areas of diversity, leadership, and gender and cultural diversity. She is also an innovative thought leader in engaging senior executive men to champion women’s professional and leadership advancement. Her “Women! Let’s Hear It From The Men: Key Strategies From The Businessmen’s Playbook” program attracts senior male and female executives from diverse racial/ethnic, and industry backgrounds. Following Dr. Lee’s example, other organizations such as Inforum have created similar programs.
Dr. Lee also serves on the board of directors of the Women’s Leadership Initiative, Olivet College; and as Communication and Public Relations Director for American Association of University Women (AAUW) Detroit. She has also served on the Michigan Women’s Commission, appointed by Governor Rick Snyder; West Michigan’s Leadership Collaborative for Civil and Human Rights, an initiative of the Michigan Department of Civil Rights (MDCR); the board of directors for the Literacy Center of West Michigan; and as Chair of the Education Sub-Committee of the Southeast Michigan Leadership Collaborative for Civil and Human Rights (MDCR).
Dr. Lee is certified in Equal Employment Opportunity, Title IX Regulations, and Investigative Techniques. She holds a doctorate in communication from Wayne State University and resides in Michigan.
